Where transparency becomes digital
Transparency and public information have proven to be a key instrument in improving accountability and participation for many years, and have been valuable resources for business, research and policy.
The advances of digital technology allow for bulk distribution of data to the public and enable people to gather, visualize, remix and share entire databases through applications, websites, mobile apps on the Internet.

From public information towards open data
Open data is information in an open, machine readable format, with no restrictions on re-use and is available on the Internet. By publishing public information as open data barriers for (re)-use are reduced and new possibilities emerge.
Open State Foundation works on digital transparency by opening up public information as open data and making it accessible for re-users. We believe that it will strengthen democracy and create substantial civic and economic value.
